Throw Back - Destiny's Child

The Destiny's Child era was literally my childhood and teenhood. I loved them then and I still do now. Beyoncé has always had my heart and she can do no wrong in my eyes. In my mind, she is my bff.

So yesterday, we were listening to some music and my first daughter decided to YouTube the lyrics to Survivor by Destiny's Child. She first heard that song when she watched Alvin and the Chipmunks about a year ago. Ordinarily, I won't let my children listen to some songs and learn the lyrics to it but this is a song about survivorship and the message in itself is good so I indulged her. It was nice briefing my daughter about my all time favourite girl group, their history and the reasoning behind their uplifting lyrics and why they inspire a legion of girls and women around the world. She also learnt that although you may not go through a similar experience, you can apply those words into your own life when you are going through a challenge. In other words, Never Give Up!

For your viewing and listening pleasure, today's throw back is two classics from Destiny's Child. Survivor and Independent Women. Gatta love them!

Enjoy!

Be Inspired.
