April: Happy New Month

It's the first day of April, Yay! Also known as April Fools Day. I think I am too grown to be playing practical jokes on unsuspecting family and friends, but hey, that's just the old soul in me speaking out. However, I do have a friend who loves playing pranks every April Fool's. Today she hinted at being pregnant for her second child and she hopes its a boy this time (she already has a girl). All her friends kept congratulating her and praying for her. She was having a field day. I completely ignored her. Why? It's utter foolery. Lol. Those that know her well will know that she will NEVER disclose details of her pregnancy if she was pregnant especially not on social media so early on in the pregnancy. Secondly, she has done this before and I have fallen victim (once bitten, twice shy). She sent a personal message to me a few years ago that she is totally heartbroken and be side herself because her husband walked out of the house after she found out he had been having an affair with a girl she knew. You should have seen me then. I turned into agony aunt automatically. I wanted to just rush to her side and console her. I kept asking her how she found out, how she feels, what about the effect a divorce will have on her young daughter etc. Before I knew it she was laughing profusely at my expense. So yes, I learnt my lesson.

The month of April. What a glorious new month this will be. I love April because it's almost the middle of the year and as Christians, we celebrate Easter! It's a lot more than bunnies and Easter eggs for us. It's a month of total reflection. Easter to me means the affirmation of "God's good news of love, forgiveness, mercy, hope, joy and peace. Easter brought justification to humanity. Justification means to be declared innocent, guiltless, absolved, acquitted and freed from any known offense, accusation and condemnation. Easter offers true forgiveness were humanity is justified freely by God’s grace through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, so we can live in peace and enjoy the fullness of God’s blessings".

Now my children are a little older, I will share this Easter with them in the hope they will learn more about our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. His life, death and resurrection.

Happy New Month Everyone!

Be Inspired
xoxo
