TOPIC: YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
Scripture 1
Matthew 5:14-16 (NASB)
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under abasket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Scripture 2
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Jesus meant that YOU ARE The Light of the world just as much as He meant THE WORD OF GOD IS YOUR Light.
Why? Because YOU are born of the Word. And if THE WORD is light, then YOU ARE LIGHT.
WHAT IS LIGHT?
Light is anything that reveals.
Scripture 3
2 Corinthians 4:6 (CEB)
God said that light should shine out of the darkness. He is the same one who shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.
Scripture 4
Psalm 36:9 (NIV)
For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.
The only way you got to know God was because He REVEALED Himself to you. So also, you are to reveal God to your world. The world discovers God when you shine. Light can’t hide so you musn’t be content to stay in the shadows. Don’t hide what God has put in you. Be bold about who you are!
SOME FUNCTIONS AND QUALITIES OF LIGHT
POINT A:
Light reveals. It brings Visibility. And It helps us to discover.
What You Must Discover
Being born-again is just the beginning of getting to know God. Don’t be content to restrict your knowledge of God to what someone else tells you. Discover him for yourself.
Remember scripture 4 above, …in your light we see light (Psalm 36:9 NIV).
God is the source of your light. Your ability to give light consistently to the world is dependent on your ability to stay connected to your source.
Furthermore, the amount of light you shine to your world is dependent on the amount of light you discover from God. So get to know God. Discover him.
In order to discover God, you must find out
The WHO;
The WHAT;
The WHEN;
The HOW;
And the WHY.
For example, who is God? What does He do? How does He move? Why did He make you? What does He expect from you? etc.
Scripture 5
Philippians 3:10-11 NLT
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
Scripture 6
Ephesians 1:17 NIV
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
Scripture 7
2 Peter 3:18 NIV
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
Scripture 8
Jeremiah 29:13 ERV
You will search for me, and when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me.
Scripture 9
Acts 17:27 CEB
God made the nations so they would seek him, perhaps even reach out to him and find him. In fact, God isn’t far away from any of us.
Scripture 10
Colossians 3:3 AMP
For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.
Scripture 11
Galatians 2:20 NIV
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Scripture 12
John 14:10 NIV
Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.
Scripture 13
Acts 17:28 NLT
For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'
Scripture 14
Colossians 1:27 GNT
God's plan is to make known his secret to his people, this rich and glorious secret which he has for all peoples. And the secret is that Christ is in you, which means that you will share in the glory of God.
You can only give the world as much of God as you know you have in you. For example, If you knew you are called to heal the sick, then you would instead of wishing God would do something. If you knew you were called to be a helper, you would help and not hurt. If you knew you were called by God to be a blessing, then you would bless and not curse. This is why you must discover yourself in God. The more of God you see in you, the less mistakes you’ll see. The less error you’ll make. The less of your imperfections you’ll notice. Why? Because as you discover yourself in God, your imperfections will fade away.
Look at the scriptures below.
Scripture 15
Psalm 18:28
You will light my lamp, Lord Jehovah; my God will enlighten my darkness.
Scripture 16
Psalm 138:8 AMP
(David said) The Lord will perfect that which concerns me;
Someone said, if the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Find out why you are here- as a Mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a person. Discover God’s plan for you. No purpose you can conceive for yourself could ever be greater than the purpose he has conceived for you. So get to know why he put you here. And be that person. Fulfilment is only discovered when purpose is achieved.
Scripture 17
1 Peter 2:9 CEB
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people who are God’s own possession. You have become this people so that you may speak of the wonderful acts of the one who called you out of darkness into his amazing light.
Scripture 18
Acts 26:16 ESV
But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you,

Scripture 23

Scripture 24
Exodus 13:21-22
The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, northe pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
POINT C:
Light has Intensity

The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

From the scriptures above, we see that no matter what level we are as women of Light, we can always be better. We can be more successful, more glorious, more excellent, and more influential. There is no limit to your greatness. Look beyond yourself and be the best at what you do. The limitless one lives in you!
