#SundayInspiration: Forgiveness By Brandy

Before I became a Beyhive, Brandy was my imaginary bff. Even into adulthood I have dreamt about several encounters with her where we are just chilling, talking about life, motherhood and just being silly. All her albums have a special place in my heart. I literally grew up listening to Ms Norwood. Yesterday, she wrote a few things on forgiveness I thought to share here with you.

Forgiveness is not about making excuses for the other person. Forgiveness is about letting go.

Be Inspired

On my journey towards complete wholeness, health, and wealth there are several things I had to address in order to encounter my BEST self.... #TheNextBrandy. No longer could I ignore some of my weak areas and fallacies that, as a human, I was prone to have.
I decided to pull up the carpet, expose the wood floor of my life, and do the WORK. One of those areas I'm currently working on is Forgiveness. I have to write that with a capital 'F' because it's such a powerful word.
I've finally learned the power of forgiveness after realizing it's literally the green light to moving forward in life. Being unforgiving, which is not God's design, is merely a weight; a weight that keeps you further and further away from your best self. I can't afford that.
One of my biggest struggles with forgiveness was feeling like the person who wronged or offended me was getting away or getting off the hook for what they'd done. I used to feel a sense of “weakness” when I'd forgive people until I realized that I'm actually stronger when I forgive because I'm not being ruled or managed by what happened TO me, but rather, I'm now managing how it affects me and how much POWER I allow that thing to have in my life.
I get it... I finally get it. Now that I understand the lesson and power of forgiveness it's time to apply that to various areas, situations, and occurrences in my life that have left marks...indelible marks that I can't pretend aren't there. I had to do the work....applying what I know about forgiveness to my actual situations and also MYSELF. You've got to forgive YOURSELF, too! I'm working on that now and I'm sharing my progress mid-journey.
Watch the video and hear more of my #ThoughtsAboutGod and forgiveness.
Keep pressing, Loves. Do all you can to encounter your BEST self.
Love Always,
-Brandy
