Like any other holiday, we treated ourselves to a variety
of restaurants in the ikeji/ikoyi/lekki axis.
Now one food in particular stood out to me when we went into Yellow Chilli in Victoria Island. It is called Fisherman's Pepper Soup. It fast
became my favourite soup taking over the delicious Efo-Riro. I couldn't stop ordering it
everywhere where we went, as a side dish or as a main meal. If you want it a bit heavier, you can add fresh okro for that extra crunch. Its no ordinary peppersoup. Its a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Food lovers out
there will agree with me.
We came back to london and I searched far and wide for a
recipe. Most of my friends in London thought I was referring to our usual
peppersoup or ofe nsala with fish/seafood.
Fast forward two years later, I have finally found a
recipe online. All thanks to a lady called Dunni Obata. You can find how to cook Fisherman
Peppersoup and a host of other great nigerian/continental food recipes on her
website www.dooneyskitchen.com.
I can't wait to go to the market, get all the ingredients
I need and cook, cook cook!
