They say, if you want to strike up any conversation with any person living in Britain, talk about the weather. Talking about the weather can produce a decent 30 minute conversation because in the UK, the weather in unpredictable and people are constantly adapting to the new climate. No two days are ever the same. The weather always brings out a reaction in any individual.
So I decided to talk about the weather today because it is a lovely sunny summer's day. I am not one to watch the weather forecast every morning. I just let the weather move me. If it is cold, I wear a coat. If it is hot, I take it off. If it looks rainy, I hold an umbrella.... and so on and so forth. So today started off a little dry and windy. For a minute, I thought it will rain April showers. But it didn't. Lo and behold, the lovely sunshine. Exactly what I needed for a morning in the middle of July. There is something about the lovely weather that makes you feel good. Where it is not too hot and sticky, and it is not too cold and windy. Today's weather is just right. We have the right amount of breeze to keep you cool. Do you realise I say lovely a lot when referring to the sunny weather?
Ok, so why am I going on about the weather like this? Beats me! The lovely sunshine takes me to another world where I imagine all the exciting activities I would rather do than to be stuck in front of a computer in the office. The beach maybe. That would be great. To be surrounded by nothing but sun, sea, sand and of course a few palm trees. Looking outside and seeing so many people lounging in the park. Oh how I wish! Oh isn't that the beauty of life. Jealous? Very. Waking up to the sunshine is so exhilarating! It literally beats getting out of bed on a cold winter morning. There is something "feel good" about the weather today. The good thing about the summer sunshine is after work, the sun is still shining so if you did want to do anything spontaneous or planned, the weather will still wait until you finish work. This by far is the best time of the year. Forget Christmas and snow and Santa Clause.
Today I am motivated. To sit in a park, for 30 minutes, bask in the sun and read anything. Why? To soak up the little moments.
So, you see how we spent a good minute talking about the weather!
Be Inspired
